Themed “Fostering India for Industry 4.0” the conference brought together industry experts, academic leaders and Government policymakers to address the challenges faced by India Inc. in the era of Fourth Industrial Revolution and thus creating a correlated education ecosystem and formulating a strategic regulatory framework. It is the only event addressing the stakeholders and leaders in the process of bridging the government, industry & academia towards building future India. AVAR, Asia Pacific’s largest anti-malware event returned to India for the third time; since its inception in 1998. K7 Computing hosted the Association of Anti-Virus Asia Researchers International Conference (AVAR) for the second time, and it was held at Holiday Inn Resort, Goa from the 29th to 30th of November, 2018. The theme of the conference was “The Dynamic Security Ecosystem.”
In its 21st year, AVAR registered participation from more than 400 cybersecurity experts, researchers, product developers and eminent speakers from around the world, engaging in panel discussions and paper presentations. There were 67 speakers from 25 different international security companies who addressed and discussed the significant and acute aspects of cybersecurity. Around 41 exhaustive research papers were presented during the three-day conference.
Over the years, AVAR has evolved as an essential technology platform to bring the global cybersecurity industry together to discuss and brainstorm on the technical way forward to deal with the complexities of the global threat landscape, latest trends, innovations and disruptions impacting the cybersecurity industry.
It has been a matter of great pride for K7 Computing to host the event for the second time and to bring it back to India for the third time. K7 Computing has been associated with AVAR since its inception and has previously hosted the conference in Chennai, in 2013.
K7 Computing has firmly believed in spreading awareness on the need for broad adoption of cybersecurity solutions to protect data and devices. This was the second year of K7 Odyssey, an event in which K7 Computing is celebrating their anniversary by recognising individuals who have contributed to the digital India paradigm; by conferring them with the ‘K7 Medal of Honour’.
K7 Computing completed 25 successful years in 2017 and to mark this milestone K7 Odyssey was initiated and was taken further in 2018. The awards are given by eminent industry stalwarts and dignitaries from the Government of Tamil Nadu. This year the Chief Guest for the evening was Rd. Santhosh Babu, Secretary to Government of Tamil Nadu, Information Technology Department and Mr N. Ram, Chairman of Kasturi & Sons Limited and Publisher of ‘The Hindu’. This year 25 individuals from the cybersecurity domain were awarded the ‘K7 Medal of Honour’ for commendable contribution to the industry.
During the event; K7 Computing also announced strategic repositioning and expansion of its Enterprise Security business. A new brand appearance was unveiled, marking a strong commitment to helping businesses, from SOHO to large enterprise, secure their digital business.
