The 3rd edition of K7 Cybersafe Awards 2019 showcased and recognised eminent CXOs and equivalent,excelled or individuals who impacted the Cybersecurity scenario of India. This year the Chief Guest for the evening was Mr. Lakshmi Narayanan, Former Vice Chairman, Cognizant; Former Chairman, NASSCOM and the Special Guests for the event were Mr. Vijayakumar, I.A.S., MD, ELCOT and Mr Sanjay Tyagi, Director STPI, Ministry of Electronics and Information, Govt of India. This year 17 individuals from the cybersecurity domain were honoured for their contribution to the industry.

About AVAR Organization (Association of Anti-Virus Asia Researchers)
AVAR (Association of anti Virus Asia Researchers) was formed in June, 1998 with a mission to prevent the spread of malware and the damage caused by it. AVAR aims to do this by developing cooperative relationships among anti-malware experts in Asia. AVAR is an independent and non-profit organization which focuses on the Asia Pacific region and consists of prominent experts from 17 territories including Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Korea, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, UK, and the USA.
AVAR’s independence is crucial in the global fight against malware and in raising user awareness on computer security issues. AVAR has a constitution and a code of conduct, and is committed to improving members’ knowledge and skills.
The founder and CTO of K7 Computing, Mr. J Kesavardhanan was elected as CEO of AVAR in March 2019.

Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad, Minister for Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY) inaugurated the MeitY Startup Summit 2019.
At the summit, the telecom minister also launched MeitY Startup Hub (MSH). The startup hub has been set up in order to facilitate MeitY’s vision of promoting technology innovation, startups and creation of intellectual properties. As a nodal agency, software technology parks of India (STPI), an organisation under MeitY, is entrusted with the implementation of MSH in the country.

The annual Virus Bulletin International Conference (VB2019) is one of the most prominent international threat intelligence events of the year, focusing on the sharing of intelligence between researchers and analysts, product managers and CISOs from around the world.
VB 2019 is the 29th edition of this prestigious conference.

AVAR, Asia Pacific’s largest anti-malware event returned to India for the third time; since its inception in 1998. K7 Computing hosted the Association of Anti-Virus Asia Researchers International Conference (AVAR) for the second time, and it was held at Holiday Inn Resort, Goa from the 29th to 30th of November, 2018. The theme of the conference was “The Dynamic Security Ecosystem.”
In its 21st year, AVAR registered participation from more than 400 cybersecurity experts, researchers, product developers and eminent speakers from around the world, engaging in panel discussions and paper presentations. There were 67 speakers from 25 different international security companies who addressed and discussed the significant and acute aspects of cybersecurity. Around 41 exhaustive research papers were presented during the three-day conference.
Over the years, AVAR has evolved as an essential technology platform to bring the global cybersecurity industry together to discuss and brainstorm on the technical way forward to deal with the complexities of the global threat landscape, latest trends, innovations and disruptions impacting the cybersecurity industry.
It has been a matter of great pride for K7 Computing to host the event for the second time and to bring it back to India for the third time. K7 Computing has been associated with AVAR since its inception and has previously hosted the conference in Chennai, in 2013.
K7 Computing has firmly believed in spreading awareness on the need for broad adoption of cybersecurity solutions to protect data and devices. This was the second year of K7 Odyssey, an event in which K7 Computing is celebrating their anniversary by recognising individuals who have contributed to the digital India paradigm; by conferring them with the ‘K7 Medal of Honour’.
K7 Computing completed 25 successful years in 2017 and to mark this milestone K7 Odyssey was initiated and was taken further in 2018. The awards are given by eminent industry stalwarts and dignitaries from the Government of Tamil Nadu. This year the Chief Guest for the evening was Rd.
