K7 Computing Releases Cyber Threat Monitor Report For Q3 2021-22, Reveals Pan India Infection Rate Of 42%

Chennai, 27th January 2022 – K7 Computing Private Limited, (www.k7computing.com) a global major in cybersecurity, released it’s Cyber Threat Monitor Report for the Q3 2021-22. The report that examines cyber threats prevalent in India, reveals a pan-India infection rate of 42% which is a slight decrease from the infection rate of 45% recorded in Q2 2021-22.

The report includes a regional analysis of infection rates across Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities. Among Tier 1 cities, Delhi registered the highest infection rate of 44% while Pune reported the lowest at 39%. Several Tier 2 cities reported higher infection rates than Tier 1 cities, with Kurnool registering the highest at 50%. The Cyber Threat Monitor report also examines infection rates across the Windows and Android platforms.

Q3 2021-22 witnessed several significant vulnerabilities that are discussed in this report, including the Log4j vulnerability that made international headlines. The report examines vulnerabilities that impacted the enterprise sector as well as various platforms including Windows, Chrome, Android, iOS, and several appliances.

The report also describes malware that targets Windows, Android, and macOS, and takes a closer look at Windows heuristic behavioural detections. Two case studies are included for a real-world analysis of how cyberthreats work.

Commenting on the report, Mr. J Kesavardhanan, Founder & CEO of K7 Computing, said, “It is always encouraging to see a decrease in the pan-India infection rate, but this shouldn’t result in complacency as an infection rate of 42% is still very high. With threat actors targeting both PCs and mobile devices, computing users should ensure that all their devices are protected by frequently updated cybersecurity products and maintain cyber hygiene to avoid falling victim to the myriad cyberthreats that are created every day.”
