January 3, 2020 Chennai, 3rd January 2020: Cybersecurity education in India is grabbing the attention of top universities across the globe. For its exemplary contribution in cybersecurity and skill in tutoring, students from Deakin University travelled all the way to India for a short-term internship programme on AI in cybersecurity offered by K7 Academy, a division of cybersecurity pioneer K7 Computing, in partnership with VIT Chennai.
Artificial Intelligence in cybersecurity is an emerging technology that improves detecting threats and other potentially malicious activities. AI can rapidly analyse swathes of situations and behaviour to spot the threat needles that correspond to malicious activity. This helps cybersecurity firms counter the latest risks in short time frames. K7 Academy, a leader in cybersecurity education, conducted this 30-day educational programme for the second consecutive year for students from Deakin University that covered vulnerability assessment, network monitoring, malware detection, and application of AI in traffic monitoring.
Deakin, a public university in Australia ranked 211 in the prestigious Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU), partnered with Vellore Institute of Technology, Chennai for the global exchange programme on AI in cybersecurity, conducted by K7 Academy.
Commenting on the educational programmes, Mr. K Purushothaman, CEO, K7 Computing said, “Cybersecurity is an emerging technology that opens up varied avenues for jobs in IT/ITES industries. K7 Academy has been constantly conducting road shows and workshops, and offering internship programmes on cybersecurity across various colleges in the country. These educational courses train students on various aspects of cybersecurity which encompasses more than the popular belief that cybersecurity is related to ethical hacking alone.“
